1 Day: Saint-Guilhem le Désert - La Couvertoirade - Millau Viaduct - Conques
Saint-Guilhem the Desert

Panorama of the village and the abbey
It is a superb village located in the gorges of the Hérault.
We will visit the medieval village together, with its narrow streets lined with beautiful old facades. Our route will lead us in particular to the abbey of Gellone, located in the heart of the village, where we will together discover the Romanesque church and the partly preserved cloister.
Saint-Guilhem le Désert is one of the most beautiful villages in France.
The Couvertoirade

The ramparts of La Couvertoirade
It is a small medieval town entirely fortified, founded by the Templars and then inhabited by the Hospitallers. We will walk through the alleys to the village church.
We can have lunch at La Couvertoirade.
La Couvertoirade is one of the most beautiful villages in France.
The village is located in the landscape of the Causses and the Cévennes, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Millau Viaduct

Panoramic view of the Millau viaduct
One of the most beautiful bridges in the world! That's my opinion anyway.
We will stop at the Millau viaduct area to enjoy the superb view of this structure, inaugurated in 2004.
Of course, coming from La Couvertoirade and heading towards Conques, we will cross the viaduct.
Conques

The Sainte-Foy de Conques church is at the origin of the village
I won't hide it from you, this is my favorite village.
À Through the course that I have concocted for you in the village, you will enjoy the calm, the old stones, the superb views of the church here and there ... to finish in front of the impressive Roman tympanum that I will describe to you in detail.
We can also visit the goldsmith's treasure.
It presents a unique collection of reliquaries, objects of worship and the famous bust of Saint Foy.

The tympanum of Conques dates from the Romanesque period
Everything is gathered in Conques to spend an unforgettable moment.
Not to mention the presence of pilgrims on their way to Compostela who provide a spellbinding atmosphere to this remote place.
We will spend the night in Conques.
Of course, I can recommend some places to dine and stay.

Conques is a major stopover on the road to Compostela
From April to October, in the evening you will attend the presentation of the eardrum by a brother and then the illumination of the eardrum.
Conques is one of the most beautiful villages in France.
The Sainte-Foy abbey is listed by Unesco as part of the Saint-Jacques de Compostelle routes.
2 Day: Cordes sur Ciel - Albi
Cordes-sur-Ciel

Cordes sur Ciel is one of the most beautiful villages in France
Hush! Don't tell anyone ... In Cordes-sur-Ciel, I will first take you to a place that visitors don't know: the most beautiful viewpoint over the village, not to be missed in the morning!
Then, after having climbed the hill in our minivan, we will admire the superb Gothic facades of this village. Once you arrive in the hall, you will then understand what is called here a bastide.
Cordes-sur-Ciel is also one of the most beautiful villages. In 2014, he won the show "The favorite village of the French".
Albi: the cathedral

Albi cathedral and the bridges over the Tarn
À Albi, we will first take the time to have lunch around the Place Sainte-Cécile, with a magnificent view of the cathedral and the Toulouse-Lautrec museum.
Albi Cathedral is both masterful and confusing.
I will show you all the details.
It is an extraordinary building. À the interior, the contrast with the exterior is striking.
Albi: the Toulouse-Lautrec museum

Toulouse-Lautrec collection in Albi
Stuck to the cathedral, the Toulouse-Lautrec museum offers us the largest collection of works by this painter born in Albi in 1864.
I will guide you through the rooms of this superb museum.
We will review Lautrec's life through his works. You will perceive his innate talent in his early works and discover his Parisian life with prostitutes, concerts and balls like that of the Moulin Rouge in particular.
Paintings, posters, all the art of Toulouse-Lautrec is gathered here.
In fact, I really like showing this museum.
finish somewhere other than your starting point
It is possible to end this 2-day tour somewhere other than your starting point.
For example, I can take you to Barcelona, Toulouse, Carcassonne, or even Lourdes for example. I indicate the supplement to pay for these cities a little further down this page.
If you are considering another destination, contact me without delay; I will tell you what extra to pay.
